GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION PROCESS

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The application and all required materials must be sent by the 31st of July 2014 8th of August 2014 (Extended).

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS

– Must be 21 or older
– Must have good command of Spanish and/or English
– Must have a project in artistic production or research
– Special interest in visionary arts and human sustainability
– Artists from any discipline may apply, including but not limited to: photography, creative writing, printmaking, performance, sculpture, painting, drawing, choreography, film, video, musical composition, ceramics, new media and installation art
– Artistic Researchers from any discipline may apply, including but not limited to: anthropology, archaeology, ethnobotany, art history, linguistics, cultural studies, philosophy, education, architecture and integral theory

REQUIRED INFORMATION

To be considered, candidates must present a portfolio with the following (in PDF format):
– Letter of intention or Artist’s Statement (max. 800 words)
– Short Description of their Project (max. 800 words)
– CV and 3 images/documents of past work
– 3 references

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Priority will be given to visionary art projects that should:
– Look for Originality, Experimentation and Integrity
– Are In-Progress (not presented, published, screened, etc.)
– Interact with and look for participation of general public and public spaces
– Raise/Integrate individual and collective consciousness

SELECTION PROCEDURE AND DATE OF RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT

Committee / August 15, 2014

EXPENSES PAID BY SELECTED APPLICANTS

– Travel to Huaraz from Lima (or other)
– Accommodation and Board in Huaraz (October 9-12, 2014)

EXPECTATIONS OF THE APPLICANTS

– Presentation of work or project at Festival in Huaraz
– Participation in Round-tables
– Advance their Artistic and Research Projects

RESIDENCY COST

10 days: 800 USD, these includes:
– Accommodation in shared bedrooms in Chavin de Huantar (2 beds per room)
– Accommodation in shared bedrooms in Huari (3 beds per room)
– Board in Chavin de Huantar and Huari (October 2-8, 2014)
– Transport from Huaraz to Chavin
– Transport from Chavin to Huari
– Transport from Huari to Huaraz
– Entrance fees to Chavin de Huantar Ceremonial Centre and Lake Purhuay
– Participation in Festival

We do not offer grants. We will work to help artists in applying for grants and outside funding.
